Our client, a consulting firm that specializes in state and federal government solutions, is seeking a Technical Project Manager in the Harrisburg, PA area. Position Overview:The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing a variety application development projects to ensure that deliverables are completed on time and within budget. This person will be responsible for clearly communicating responsibilities and expectations, and employ strategies to maximize quality and efficiency. Responsibilities:Apply strong project management skills and delivery methodologies to ensure Application Development projects are delivered within planned timelines, budgets, margins, and quality specifications.Develop detailed Project Management Plans for application enhancements, business process re-engineering projects, and new development efforts.Monitor project milestones and phases, and take corrective action as needed to ensure the project is on schedule.Accurately communicate deliverables, assigned roles, and expectations. Work with team leads to adjust project estimates as needed.Employ appropriate methodologies (such as risk mitigation/management, change/control management and contract management) to manage major projects or groups of projects.Ensure new project estimates are approved and agreed on by the client.Responsible for scheduling and monitoring status reviews, project management inspections, and software quality assurance work product and process reviews with the appropriate stakeholders.Capture, analyze, and report on required project management metrics.Prepare status reports on a periodic basis for the project team, sponsor, and stakeholders.Make decisions with the designated authority as defined in the Project Charter to minimize project risk supported by sound analysis and project management best practices.
